Wesley Joseph – Hiatus

Birmingham-born rapper, singer-songwriter, producer and filmmaker; Wesley Joseph released his new track “Hiatus” after debuting it through a COLORS session, a unique aesthetic music platform showcasing exceptional talent from around the globe. The track follows “Monsoon” and “Cold Summer” and form part of his upcoming kaleidoscopic “GLOW” project, set for release on February 17th via independent record label Secretly Canadian.

The song is the narrative and conclusion of growing pains, a teenager talking to his future self and his future self talking back. The perspective is from my angrier and darker teenage self, caught in a small town and needing an escape.

Joseph’s debut album, “ULTRAMARINE,” was well received when it was released in 2021. It received praise from publications in the music and fashion industries, including AnOther Man, The Face, The Fader, The Guardian, GQ, i-D, NME, Pigeons & Planes, and Vogue.

Another notable year for Joseph was 2022 when he was named one of Vevo’s Artists To Watch 2023, nominated for an AIM Award, and featured on Loyle Carner’s acclaimed new album “Hugo.” Joseph is included in DIY Magazine’s Class of 23, I Newspaper’s Stars For 2023, Apple Music’s “Ones To Watch 2023,” and a BBC Radio 1 Future this year. as reported by Secretly Canadian.
