We are pleased to announce the latest collaboration between rising star Jay-A and reggae veterans Mavado and Dexta Daps on their new single “Pain” with its accompanying visuals directed by Deus Beni.
The Sponge Music and Mansions Records produced track speaks on the harsh realities endured by inner-city youth in a dog-eat-dog world and the implications of being desensitized to violence. Jay-A says the song doesn’t glorify violence but rather sheds light on the socio-economic conditions that lead some men to commit criminal activities.
“Things weh we involve inna, know bout, see we friends and family go through, it’s just a real life song. It’s nothing to brag and boast ‘bout… A just three ghetto youth a talk real life things that everybody can relate to. Even if you don’t grow up in the ghetto, you know people that grow up in the ghetto and you see stuff so you can relate to it.”
Mavado, Jay-A, and Dexta Daps are all talented musicians with distinct styles that blend seamlessly in “Pain.” Mavado, who has been in the music industry for over a decade, is known for his versatility. Jay-A, on the other hand, is a rising star in the dancehall scene. Dexta Daps, with his soulful vocals, brings a smooth and emotional touch to the song.
“Pain” is a song that speaks to the soul of the human experience. It has garnered significant attention in the music industry and will continue gaining traction in the coming days.
