Dezzy Hollow – Player’s Ballad

Born and raised in Oceanside, California, Dezzy Hollow brings back that old-school funk and lyrical content paying homage to his Oceanside roots, living life to his own beat, in the new visual “Players Ballad” directed by LifeOfJuancho and DessTheInfluence.

Dezzy Hollow’s music in both its lyrics and sound is heavily influenced by his environment and inspired by the transformative sounds of G Funk, hip-hop, and West Coast rap. The opening shot places the audience into Dezzy’s world, a position in which they became personally engaged with the culture and his life experience, behind that feel and his own authentic undeniable Oceanside west coast G- funk sound.

“I think it’s like the basis of my music,” “Every city has similar traits but there’s also a big difference in Oceanside compared to a lot of cities, and I feel like I have a voice for that — I’m able to paint that in my music and that’s how it’s been since the beginning of my career.”

The song “Players Ballad” was produced by DJ Dominator, Mixed and Mastered by Jrolz. The track is off Dezzy Hollow’s recent Album “One Nation Under Funk“, featuring artists WC, Suga Free, Lil Rob, Baby Bash, Ryan Anthony & KP. Additional Vocals: Slow Jammin’ James, Radio Raymond T, Xavier The X Man, Billy Blast, Cuzzy Mac, Stace Funkin’, and Moana. Produced by DJ Dominator, De’La, Chabbi, Dezzy Hollow, ProdKayz, Darren Vegas, and Mofak. The artist and his projects are supported by the independent label MadStrange.

Born and raised in Oceanside, California, Dezzy Hollow has always been influenced by his environment and music. From a young age, Hollow’s “pop,” was a key influence growing up because he played soulful music and old-school funk that inspired him to create and write music at 15, and sell mixtapes in middle school.

I wrote ‘EBT Boi’ to tell a story about an environment where people are hungry and looking for ways to come up — doing whatever it takes to make ends meet,“

“It’s a song about being free to cross borderlines,” Hollow said. “We wanted people to hear both our stories coming from California and Venezuela, and connecting the two countries, without a borderline between.”

“My message has always been about hard work and staying ambitious,” “It’s about taking all the opportunities you can and becoming something out of nothing. Oceanside is such a small city, but my hope is to inspire others here and beyond so that people are not afraid to chase their goals no matter where they come from.”
