Buju Banton is back with the visuals for his latest single ‘Steppa’. The video is set in the lush landscapes of Jamaica as we see Banton take on the role of peacemaker.
“A certain culture has taken on a life of its own and become a monster,” Baton told Rolling Stone. “Things are not the way they used to be — crime and violence, the gap between the rich and the poor. Wasn’t that always my role, to bring some civility and some consciousness to human existence, to the music? I’ve not changed.”
Banton has inked a partnership with Roc Nation and Island Records with the help of Rihanna, making him the second Jamaican reggae artist on the roster after Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley.
